We hurt seeing our neighbors and friends hurting. So we want to do something to help.
The San Marco Preservation Society, in partnership with the San Marco Merchants Association and Beer:30, are officially launching the #SanMarcoStrong fundraiser.
This fundraiser will have two components: a fundraiser event this coming Saturday, September 23rd, and an ongoing community-wide fundraiser through October 1st.
The Event
This event is a family-friendly community celebration of the people, businesses, and spirit of San Marco. Entrance is free, but a $10 donation is suggested.
It will be THIS Saturday, September 23rd from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. Although it is short notice, please stop by and tell your neighbors too!
The event will be held in the large parking area behind the merchants located on the 1500 block of San Marco Boulevard (behind Dance Trance, Meow & Barks, Beer:30, Rusted, etc.) Huge thanks to landlord, TSG Realty, for offering this event space.
Wonderful local restaurants will be providing food, with a portion of sales going to #SanMarcoStrong.
Cold beverages are being donated by Beer:30 and their fantastic distributors.
San Marco area businesses will be setting up pop-up shops throughout the day. These pop-up shops are a great way to shop lots of local stores all in one place and explore a retailer you may not be familiar with yet! Storm response information and resources will also be available.
The back area will be cordoned off for pedestrian traffic only. Parking is not provided, so please be courteous to the neighbors on surrounding streets when finding a spot.
You will have the opportunity to donate to #SanMarcoStrong in person while meeting new neighbors, supporting your local businesses, and spending part of your day out in your community.

The Fundraiser
During the community-wide fundraiser, through October 1st, select merchants and businesses throughout the entire San Marco area will be donating a portion of their sales to the #SanMarcoStrong fund. Please scroll down to see a list of participating businesses. If you are a business or corporation and would like to participate, please email george@mysanmarco.com.
Shopping small and patronizing your local boutiques, stores, and restaurants will vastly strengthen our community. The stores who experienced flooding are not the only ones who are feeling the effects of the storm! Check out the great seasonal sales, start your holiday shopping early, and pick up dinner from one of our spectacular area restaurants. Please shop local.
You also have the opportunity to donate directly to the #SanMarcoStrong fund if you’d like. The San Marco Preservation Society is a registered 501(c)(3) and will be directing all donations designated #SanMarcoStrong immediately to the fund. Now through October 1st you may mail or drop off checks and cash to our office at 1468 Hendricks Ave. Please be sure to write #SanMarcoStrong on the mailing envelope and/or the check itself. Also, include an email address or return address so that we can send you a donation receipt. With the volume of donations, please allow a week or two for our office to send yours.
We are working with reputable organizations like the Red Cross, FEMA, the San Marco Merchants Association, area churches, and others to get an accurate, updated, and verified list of affected residents and businesses. If you know a San Marco neighbor who was greatly impacted by the hurricane, please send their contact information to info@smpsjax.com.
At the conclusion of the fundraiser, the donations collected will be split evenly into two categories: assistance for residents and assistance for businesses. We have come into contact with many deserving individuals in this community who need quick and tangible aid. Gifts to both businesses and residents may be in the form of checks or gift cards. An update to this information will be made further along in the fundraiser’s timeline.
